Baptists
Rainbow Baptists is a website providing support, information and advocacy for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer identified Baptists, their family and friends. Rainbow Baptists is an outreach ministry of The Association of Welcoming andAffirming Baptists (AWAB).
Members of the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists (AWAB) are churches, organizations, and individuals who are willing to go on record as welcoming and affirming all persons without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity, and who have joined together to advocate for the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons within Baptist communities of faith.


Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

The Gay, Lesbian and Affirming Disciples Alliance, Inc., is a presence working for the full dignity and integrity of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and affirming people within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). GLAD Alliance welcomes all who make common cause with us and conducts its activities through the congregations, regions and general church and other manifestations of the Disciples of Christ.


Christian Reformed

As We Are (AWARE) is "A Safe Place in the Christian Community for Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual People," ministering to segments of the protestant community in general, and the Christian Reformed Church community in particular, from local offices. It is by no means an official ministry of the Christian Reformed Church.


Christian Science

Emergence is a worldwide community of Christian Scientists, their families and friends providing spiritual and educational support for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgendered people as they deal with homophobia and heterosexism.


Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon)

Affirmation: Gay and Lesbian Mormons serves the needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender LDS and their supportive family and friends through social and educational activities.


Conservative Judaism

Keshet JTS, formed at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2002, aims to: Explore the Jewish texts and interpersonal elements that impact the issue of homosexuality and Conservative Judaism; Educate the broader Conservative community about the aforementioned resources; Advocate for social and religious equality for Jews of all sexual orientations within the Conservative Movement. While comprised primarily of students, Keshet is also supported by some JTS faculty members and JTS graduates. Keshet is also proud to partner with Dror Yikra, our sister organization at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, California.
Keshet-Rabbis hold that GLBT Jews should be embraced as full, open members of all Conservative/Masorti congregations and institutions. Through our understanding of Jewish sources and Jewish values, we affirm that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Jews may fully participate in community life and achieve positions of professional and lay leadership.


Episcopalian

Integrity is a witness of God's inclusive love to the Episcopal Church and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.
Claiming the Blessing is an organization of Episcopalians promoting the church blessing of same-sex relationships and advocating for full inclusion of all the baptized in all sacraments of the church, including the selection of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered candidates as bishops, priests, and lay leaders where they are otherwise qualified.
Beyond Inclusion plays a cooperative role in the work of convincing the Episcopal Church to develop rites for the blessing of couples living in life-long committed relationships other than marriage.


Islam (General)

Al-Fatiha Foundation is dedicated to Muslims who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning, those exploring their sexual orientation or gender identity, and their allies, families and friends. ; Al-Fatiha promotes the progressive Islamic notions of peace, equality and justice. ; We envision a world that is free from prejudice, injustice and discrimination, where all people are fully embraced and accepted into their faith, their families and their communities. Founded in 1998, Al-Fatiha Foundation is a registered US-based non-profit, non-governmental organization. The
Safra Project is a resource project working on issues relating to lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender women who identify as Muslim religiously and/or culturally (Muslim LBT women). The Safra Project was set up in October 2001 by and for Muslim LBT women. The issues faced by Muslim LBT women, and the (combination of) prejudices based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender, religion, race, culture and immigration status that they experience, are unique and currently insufficiently addressed.

The Progressive Muslim Union (PMU) of North America is the result of almost two years of conversation and collaboration between a group of North American Muslims who are committed to representing and renewing our community in all its social, ideological and political diversity. PMU members range from deeply religious to totally secular, sharing in common a commitment to learning, political and social empowerment, a commitment to justice and freedom and a concern and love for the Muslim community. PMU does not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, or intolerance of an individual's religious convictions or lack of conviction. Beyond these "red lines," PMU does not impose political or social litmus tests on its members or affiliates, and considers personal lives personal.


Jehovah's Witness

A Common Bond is the worldwide support network for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals who were, or still are, associated with Jehovah's Witnesses.


Judaism (General) (See also: Conservative, Orthodox, and Reform Judaism)

The World Congress of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Jews: Keshet Ga'avah consists of around 50 member organizations in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Mexico, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The World Congress holds conferences and workshops representing the interests of lesbian, gay, bisexual, andtransgender Jews around the world. ;The focus of these sessions varies from regional, national, continental, to global.
Jewish Mosaic partners with Jewish organizations, communities, and individuals of every denomination to create a world where a ll Jews are fully included in communal life, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. ; Founded in summer 2003 and based in Denver, Colorado, Jewish Mosaic is the first national organization dedicated to helping the Jewish world become more open, accessible, and welcoming to LGBT Jews and their families.
JQ International Inc. is a membership-based organization dedicated to the advancement of Jewish equality of sexuality and gender identity via social and educational programming, community service and activism.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle was established 1926. Our mission, here at the Jewish Federation is to ensure Jewish survival and enhance the quality of Jewish life locally, in Israel and worldwide. Bashert is the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender (LGBT) initiative of the Federation.
Nehirim, a spiritual initiative for GLBT Jews, is an independent organization devoted to transdenominational, queer Jewish spirituality. Based in New York City. Nehirim creates spiritual community for GLBT Jews, integrating the wisdom of the Jewish tradition, the unique perspectives of sexual minorities, and an experiential relationship with the Divine.


Lutheran

The ministries of Lutherans Concerned/North America (LC/NA) embody, inspire, and support the acceptance and full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, their families, friends and allies, within the Lutheran communion and its ecumenical and global partners.
goodsoil.org is the official website of the collaboration to overcome the policy and practice of discrimination within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) against lgbt clergy, same-sex marriages and covenanted relationships.

Open Door Ministries (Seattle) (no web site) is a Lutheran ministry that welcomes people with HIV or AIDS and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons. Open Door Ministries also provides resources and assistance to churches that desire to welcome all people and assists Lutheran churches in becoming open and affirming congregations (RIC). Metropolitan Community Churches

Founded in the interest of offering a church home to all who confess and believe, Metropolitan Community Churches moves in the mainstream of Christianity.


Non-denominational (Evangelical Christian)

Evangelicals Concerned (EC) is a safe place for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Christians to reconcile and integrate their faith and sexuality. As a non-denominational community, EC encourages spiritual growth for anyone on their journey of faith through conferences, local groups, bible studies, and educational resources
Directions Northwest is the Puget Sound Chapter of Evangelicals Concerned Western Region (ECWR). As a local chapter, we build a supportive community through local activities and events including weekly bible studies, monthly potlucks, and annual retreats. ; Our goal is not to persuade anyone how they should think, but to provide a safe place where those on their journey can ask questions, express doubts and concerns, and be cared for in a nurturing and uplifting environment.


Orthodox Judaism

Presbyterian

The Covenant Network of Presbyterians is a broad-based, national group of clergy and lay leaders working for a church that is simultaneously faithful, just, and whole. We seek to support the mission and unity of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in a time of potentially divisive controversy. We intend to articulate and act on the church's historic, progressive vision and to work for a fully inclusive church.
That All May Freely Serve commits to actively resist and transform structures and systems of injustice. To join in solidarity in making the connections with those disenfranchised by racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, ageism, ablebodyism, gender identity oppression, eco-exploitation, militarism, and all other structures of exploitation and oppression through the lens of our social location and focus on the liberation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people from religious prejudice and exclusionary [Presbyterian Church USA] church policies.

Following the risen Christ, and seeking to make the Church a true community of hospitality, the mission of More Light Presbyterians is to work for the full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people of faith in the life, ministry and witness of the Presbyterian Church (USA).


Quaker

The American Friends Service Committee carries out service, development, social justice, and peace programs throughout the world. Founded by Quakers in 1917 to provide conscientious objectors with an opportunity to aid civilian war victims, AFSC's work attracts the support and partnership of people of many races, religions, and cultures. AFSC's work is based on the Quaker belief in the worth of every person and faith in the power of love to overcome violence and injustice. AFSC's
LGBT Rights andRecognition web site, "linking LGBT liberation to struggles for racial, economic, and gender justice."


Reform Judaism

From its historic building on Washington's Embassy Row, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism has educated and mobilized the American Jewish community on legislative and social concerns as an advocate in Congress on issues ranging from Israel and Soviet Jewry to economic justice; from civil rights to international peace and religious liberty. Since it was established in 1961, the RAC has been an integral part of some of the most important political and social developments in recent history.

The Reform Movement has been an advocate of gay and lesbian rights since 1965, when the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) passed a resolution calling for the decriminalization of homosexuality. In 1977, the URJ and the CCAR passed their first resolutions dealing with this issue, calling for human rights for homosexuals. Since then, the URJ, CCAR, WRJ, CSA, and NFTY have passed resolutions dealing with issues specific to Reform Judaism, such as inclusion of gays and lesbians in the rabbinate and cantorate, as well as national issues, such as support for civil marriage, elimination of discrimination within the Armed Forces and the Boy Scouts, and support for explicit workplace non-discrimination and civil rights legislation.


Roman Catholic

Dignity Chapters of the Pacific
Dignity/Seattle is a faith community of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender Catholics, our families and friends, in Seattle since 1973. Catholic parents who love and affirm their lesbian daughters and gay sons are Fortunate Families. This website will help Catholic parents of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender children find support and resources and a place to share their story with other Fortunate Families.


Unitarian Universalist

The Office of Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Concerns is guided by the vision that someday we will be able to put ourselves out of business and that oppression against bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender people, whether it be overt or subtle, will be a thing of the past. Unitarian Universalism has been on record as supporting the rights of bisexual, gay, and lesbian people since 1970. The Office was formed in 1973.
Our Whole Lives is a series of sexuality education curricula for five age groups: grades K-1, grades 4-6, grades 7-9, grades 10-12, and adults. ; Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives provides not only facts about anatomy and human development, but helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality. Our Whole Lives is a joint project of the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ.


United Church of Christ

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues web page. The United Church of Christ (UCC) is not organized in a hierarchical way and therefore we are not a doctrinal church. The local church is the basic unit of mission and has the basic freedom to determine its own mission in light of God's call. This means there is much diversity among members, local churches and other settings of the UCC on "Open and Affirming" LGBT concerns. The work of the national setting of the UCC is guided by the significant body of social policies adopted by the General Synod of the United Church of Christ, the representative decision making body of the national setting.
The United Church of Christ Coalition for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns is officially recognized by the United Church of Christ as a related, self-created organization. ; The Coalition provides support and sanctuary to all our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender sisters and brothers, their families and friends; advocates for their full inclusion in church and society; and brings Christ's affirming message of love and justice for all people.


United Methodist Church

Reconciling Ministries Network is a national grassroots organization that exists to enable full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life of the United Methodist Church, both in policy and practice.
Affirmation is an activist, all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization with no official ties to The United Methodist Church. As an independent voice of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer people, Affirmation radically reclaims the compassionate and transforming gospel of Jesus Christ by relentlessly pursuing full inclusion in the Church as we journey with the Spirit in creating God's beloved community.
Wesley Club at the University of Washington is a college campus ministry of the United Methodist Church and part of the United Methodist Student Movement. Our purpose is to provide a Christian community meeting the needs of students and college-aged young adults. We offer a blend of social, recreational, and service activities accompanied by discussions and fellowship without employing strict dogma or doctrine. We are a reconciling campus ministry and, therefore, we explicitly accept all people just as Jesus did.
